Here are some suggestions to keep things moving along! Don't be surprised After the big day, real life sets in. No wonder you slip down the to-do list. There's work to catch up on, and everything else they've put on hold, maybe for weeks. Make sure they know you understand. Set deadlines People need structure, so give them a timeline before the big day. For example, their images will be online To View More >>

What is "aspect ratio", and why can it be a problem? The aspect ratio of an image is the ratio of its width to its height. Unless the aspect ratio of a print or frame matches that of the camera image from which it is made, the original image will need to be cropped. What to do When shooting, bear in mind the finished print that you want to sell. If you frame the subject tightly (with important content out to the edges of the image) you won't be able to crop — you'll need to order prints with the same aspect ratio as the camera. A long post but full of insights! Andy Fountain explains how he and Lewis developed their unique style of wedding photography, how almost every coverage includes an album, and the pay-off for both their clients and the studio. There are two photographers at Fountain Photography. How do you and Lewis work together to capture the big day? Lewis is now my business partner, rather than simply an employee and second shooter. Mid-photography degree, we brought Lewis in to the business with the idea of eventually shooting two weddings a day, and making twice the profit. But while To View More >>

How do you design a Queensberry album? Well, we can design it for you, or you can do it yourself using third party software like Fundy or SmartAlbums, our desktop application Photojunction, or the Workspace Album Designer. But — let's be frank — until now the Workspace design feature has been just a little underpowered! We've been working hard to change that, however, and we reckon Workspace Album Designer is turning into a powerful and intuitive program that for many people could just be their best choice. Our Album of the Week features the wedding of Kathryn and Alexander, and photography by Natalija Brunovs from We Are All Stardust (AUS). Natalija shared a few thoughts about the day and the album design with us below. "I really enjoyed the laid-back elegance of these two. There's a huge amount of power in Workspace. We know, we use it all, and we love it! Queensberry’s website is built on Workspace. We blog in Workspace. We sell in Workspace. And we design albums in Workspace, and Photojunction — half the albums we make, in fact, all part of our free album design service.
